“Before Shopping formed members of the band played in some of my favorite local Chicago acts including La Mantra De Fhiqria, Chauncey, and The Imposters. It only made sense that the mixture of elements from these former bands would create something as electrifying as Shopping.
For me – their musical approach is best understood by the band name they’ve chosen. Minimal, unpretentious, gritty, and best taken at face value. Not playing to impress – just there to belt out for those willing to listen. Best translated in basements – this is authentic and very Chicago to me…dear I say…very “no coast”.”
